The President of India, Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil has condoled the passing away of Shri Panakkad Syed Muhammedali Shihab Thangal.

In a condolence message to Smt. Aysha Bibi, the President has said 'Shri Thangal was a prominent social worker who took active interest in accelerating socio-economic development. In his death, the nation has lost an eminent public figure'.
