Officers Undergoing the 112th Induction Training Programme for State Civil Service Officers, Promoted to the IAS Call-on the President of India

A group of 36 Officers undergoing the 112th Induction Training Programme for State Civil Service Officers, promoted to the IAS called on the President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee today at Rashtrapati Bhavan. These officers are presently undergoing a two month Induction Training Programme at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie.

The President congratulated all the Trainee Officers on their promotion to the IAS. He said that having entered into another phase in their careers they would need to widen their perspective and approach on various issues. He stated that this Induction Course would give them an opportunity to share experiences and administrative practices in different states and help them adopt the best practices. The President said that the concept of governance and the character and dimension of administration has changed substantially over the years. With the rising expectations of the public, civil servants are required to shoulder huge responsibilities.

The President wished the officers all success and said that he had no doubt that they would give their best to the society and the country.

The Induction Training Programme aims to provide the officers with an All India perspective on governance and administration and to develop in them a sense of awareness and responsibility for working at the next level in the various echelons at the State and Central Government.
